Some people like to argue religion. Some of those same people don’t have a clue about the Bible or truth or even the basics of the four main world religions, but they plunge headlong into it anyway.
As I listen it appears there are lots of questions, some observations, often little substance and in the end not much is accomplished as no one seems to be convinced to change much of anything. A woman at a well in Samaria had one of those encounters with Jesus where she tried to knock him off his game with questions about race, religion, God, worship and who was better. Here’s what Jesus said, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” Interestingly, Jesus first mentioned “the gift” and then challenged her to ask for it in the form of “living water”. These three things are linked … The gift … Jesus … and Living Water. People want to argue and Jesus wants to give.
People attempt to fill an empty void and Jesus offers living water. He is offering you the chance to just get to know Him. Your questions will be answered, your heart will be filled, your thirst will be quenched simply by receiving the living water He proposes. So, go ahead and just ask Him for a drink and receive the gift.
