So what have I said so far ( if you missed the two previous blogs)? First, we don’t necessarily become spiritually minded just because follow all the rules. Secondly, you can live in one of two worlds: either one that is just “the natural” which doesn’t even consider the possibility of a higher life, or the spiritually minded which seeks direction from above.
John puts salvation in rather simple terms: “He who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son does not have life!” This is how living in the spirit or being spiritually minded begins. In effect Paul says the same thing when he states, “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.”
You see, you are either His or you are not! If you are His then the Holy Spirit dwells in you. That’s part one of being spiritually minded. It begins with a decision to allow your life to come under the control of God’s Spirit. If you don’t have God’s Spirit in your heart and life then you cannot be His nor come under His influence. If indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you then you can come under His powerful influence and be led by Him. So dear ones, walk in the Spirit!
